Louey "L.L." Conner

He was born April 23, 1935, in Diboll, Texas, as a son of Louey and Ruth (Whitaker) Conner. Spending many of his younger years around Nacogdoches County, L.L. had lived most of his life in the Houston, Texas, area. He was a retired carpenter after working several years in residential construction. His family was important to him and he enjoyed holiday seasons with his relatives.

He was married to Martha Jane Wallace Conner and she preceded him in death on March 20, 1995. In addition, he was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don "Sunshine" Conner and Jerry Conner; sisters, Delores Nelson and Louey Ruth Russell; and nephews, Larry Wayne Conner and Ruben Steve Russell.

His survivors include his wife, Sandra Ritter Conner; and nieces and nephews, Linda Diane Elliott and husband Jimmy, Eddy Glen Shofner and wife Norma, Louey Wayne Shofner, Marion Clemont "Clem" Russell and wife Wanda, Kevin Conner, Kendall Conner and wife Julia, and Jerri Lynn Cleland and husband James.

Funeral services are set for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Cason Monk-Metcalf's Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow at Old North Church Cemetery, located off County Road 205 in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon Thursday.
