Louis Benard (Ben) Clifton passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at the age of 89. He was born April 15, 1937 to I.S. (Sime) Clifton and Mae Clifton in Nacogdoches County and was the youngest of seven children. He graduated from Central Heights High School in 1955.
He married Joan Tindall December 20, 1957 in Nacogdoches. They were married 65 years at the time of her passing. Ben and Joan united with College Heights Baptist Church in 1958 and he served as a deacon for over 50 years.Ben worked as an Executive General Agent for the Reliable Life Insurance Company for 29 years until his retirement.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joan; brothers T.J Clifton, Wade Clifton, Ancil Clifton; sisters Lillie Hamilton, Gladys Barnhart, and Eula Chapman.
He is survived by his son, Terry and wife Tina of Nacogdoches, granddaughter, Allyson Glass and husband, Jonathan of Tomball, grandson, Bennet Clifton and wife, Taylor of Cypress. Also, surviving great grandchildren Henry Rhodes Glass and Meredith Kate Glass of Tomball and a future great grandchild due in January, 2027.
