After graduating from high school, she attended Lamar University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education. She devoted many years to teaching before retiring.
Luana loved the mountains of Colorado and especially enjoyed fishing, camping, and wildlife.
She is survived by the love of her life, Johnny Hewett, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage; her daughter, Wendy McQuerry; her son, Trevor Hewett; her grandchildren, Nacole Perry and James Clark; her great-grandchildren, Layden Perry, Bradley Perry, and Rhett Clark; and her brother, David Nash and wife, Vickey Nash.
Luana was a member of the North Street Church of Christ.
