

Funeral services for Martha Franklin Dudley, 95, of Nacogdoches, Texas, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2015, at First Baptist Church Chapel, located at 411 North St. in Nacogdoches with Dr. Allen Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Visitation will precede the services, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Aaron Dudley, John Dudley, Ben Cline, Joshua Dudley, Brian Dudley, and Michael Chambers.
Martha passed away Friday, January 30, 2015, in Nacogdoches. She was born May 21, 1919, in San Antonio, Texas, to Orrn Ripley and Minnie Holcombe Franklin. She married Charles Newton Dudley on January 25, 1953, in Mission, Texas.
Mrs. Dudley graduated from Harlandale High School in San Antonio, Texas, in 1936. She received her B.A. from Baylor University and her Masters in Religious Education from the Women’s Missionary Training School of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. She held various positions as a school teacher. She was always actively involved in her church, teaching Sunday School for many years. She was active in TOPS Club, achieving KOPS status and maintaining it.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sister, Lillie Ruth Wallace; and her brother, O.R. Franklin.
She is survived by her sons, Frank Dudley and wife Melaney of Lafayette, LA, Tom Dudley and wife Kim of Nacogdoches, and David Dudley and wife Judy of Maryville, TN; and daughter, Becky Cline and husband Mark of Nacogdoches. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; six great-granddaughters; one great-grandson due in March; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
