

Mary Ann Allen went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2025. She was born on February 23, 1940. She was preceded in death by her parents Avis & Von Lowery, Sr. and her husband Hodges “Pinky” Allen, Jr. Mary Ann was a devoted servant of Christ, a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her sons, John Allen and wife Angie and Gary Allen and wife Debbie; her beloved grandchildren, Raleigh Allen and wife Carlye, Kaitlyn Porterfield and husband Ty, Rachel Newton and husband Kyle, Hud Allen and wife Jessie, and Sayler Taylor and husband Ethan. She was blessed with six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Kay Pike; and brother Von Lowery, Jr.
Mary Ann obtained her Master’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and taught school for 30 years. After retirement, she loved spending time with her grandchildren who were the loves of her life. She also spent time reading, traveling, cooking, and playing 42 with her church friends.
Mary Ann was a member of First Baptist Church of Douglass, fondly known as the “bread lady” and faithfully served the Lord all her life. She was a spiritual leader and had huge influence on the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her favorite Bible passage was Psalm 23. She was a very positive person with a servant’s heart and always had an encouraging word for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed and will always be remembered for loving her family and the big spiritual impact she made in their lives.
Funeral services will be held at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 3:00pm. Visitation will be begin at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Saints Rest Cemetery.
