Nancy Lee Lemberger of Nacogdoches, TX was returned to sender on May 5, 2021, at her home at the age of 74. She was born March 27, 1947, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, to parents William “Bill” Osuld Bredesen and Elizabeth “Betty” Helen (Tuschl) Bredesen.
Nancy was a graduate of Valders High School in Valders, WI. She started her career in Wisconsin as a draftsman. In the early 70s, the family moved to Dallas, Texas area where she worked as an interior designer. In 1985 they moved to Nacogdoches where she began N.L. Designs. She planned and developed Heartwood Subdivision, turning a 53-acre tract into small acreage lots. She then became a licensed massage therapist later restoring a building on South Street and opening the Giving Tree Cottage Day Spa & Massage Therapy School, now operating as Whole Again. She taught many of the massage therapists in the area. She never stopped learning and taught herself to paint, restored another building, and opened Church Street Art Gallery, a solo gallery.
Nancy lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed painting, gardening, and traveling. Her travels took her on cruises to Alaska and all over the United States and Europe. She even walked the El Camino De Santiago. Also known as “The Way,” this was a nearly 500-mile hike that Saint James took across Spain to spread the gospel. She and her husband John Clark would travel in their Airstream Travel Trailer to enjoy hot springs or kayaking.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jay Lemberger; and brother, David Bredesen.
She is survived by her husband, John Clark of Nacogdoches; daughters, Tami Jones of Lufkin, TX and Heidi Lemberger (Robert Mohwinkel) of Houston; granddaughters, Hannah Koonce and Delaney Koonce of Lufkin; father of her children, Pat Lemberger; brothers, Tom Bredesen (Miriam) of Sun City Center, FL, Andy Bredesen (Lisa) of Forest Hill, MD, Larry Bredesen of Arlington, TX and Neal Bredesen (Carol) of Neenah, WI; sisters, Linda Bredesen of Appleton, WI, Carol Bredesen-Pannell (Greg) of Garland, TX, and Lisa Hornok (Mike) of Sachse, TX; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Monday evening, May 17th from 5-8p at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home in Nacogdoches.
Funerals services will be conducted on Tuesday evening, May 18th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nacogdoches commencing with the Rosary at 5p, Funeral Mass at 5:45, followed by a meal served in the Parish Hall. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on the "Catholic Nacogdoches" Facebook group.
All family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
Nancy will still be teaching, as she has donated her body to medical science. Burial services could be years from now when her cremated remains are returned to the family.
