

Patricia Ruth Lambert, 81, former resident of Nacogdoches passed away on October 6, 2011 in Allen, Texas. She was born in Orange, Texas, to Louis Matthews and Mamie Bowdon Matthews on January 21, 1930.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel at 4:00 pm with Rev. Christie Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 8, 2011, from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm prior to the service at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
Patricia arrived in Nacogdoches at the age of 11 months and always kept Nacogdoches in her heart as home. Patricia later moved to Orange where she became a graduate of Orange High School in 1945. At the age of 18, she began working for Duponts Sabine Riverworks and worked until her retirement 37years later.
Patricia was a quiet woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. She was an avid sports fan and could often be found watching her favorite basketball, football or baseball team. Patricia also enjoyed trips to Colorado and the Rocky Mountains to see the “good work that God did”. Late in life she moved to North Texas to be close to family. She loved her family and her grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
Patricia is survived by her sons, Russ Lambert and wife Linda of Allen, Texas, and Mark Lambert of Plano, Texas; granddaughters Jill Lambert of Dallas, Texas, and Shannon Duncan and husband Shaun of Mesquite, Texas; brother, Bill “WB” Matthews of Orange; sister, Mildred White of Little Rock, Arkansas and a number of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by sister, Burnell Adams; brother, Jack “LB” Matthews; sister-in-laws, Margaret Matthews and Adress Matthews.
