Patricia Ann Thomason, age 82, of Garrison, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at her residence. She was born January 28, 1940, in Houston to parents George Harvey Taylor, Jr. and Rema Lydia (Powers) Taylor.
After attending Stephen F. Austin State University for one year, Mrs. Thomason completed nursing school and worked as an LVN and Lab Technician for Tyler County Hospital. She also worked in the nursery taking care of the newborns. She volunteered her time at the Garrison Heritage Society – Wiley Hotel.
Patricia enjoyed reading, volunteering, and making pies. One of her fondest memories was having a “Granny’s Pie Camp” with her granddaughters and their friends, teaching them some of the pie-making skills she learned over the years. She loved church and taught Sunday School and children’s church.
Mrs. Thomason was preceded in death by her parents; and great-grandchildren, Braxton Layne Andrus and Everleigh Kate Andrus.
She is survived by her sons, Glen Alan Andrus and wife Angee, Carroll Layne Andrus and wife Wanda, and Patrick Wayne Andrus and wife Anjanette; daughter, Aleta Gail Seidelman and husband Daniel; sisters, Peggy Burt and Susan Stewart and husband Michael; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors in Nacogdoches, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
Patricia will be laid to rest in Libby Cemetery in Nacogdoches.
Serving as pallbearers will be Taylor Andrus, Skylar Andrus, Brandon Andrus, Luke Andrus, David Coston, and Matt Perkins.
