Born on October 7, 1928, in Martinsville, Texas, Reba lived a life full of grace, generosity, and deep devotion to her family, faith, and community.
Reba was a dedicated educator, receiving her Master’s of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. She was fondly remembered by many as their music teacher, a role she cherished. Her love of music was matched only by her love of serving others. A faithful member of her church, Reba found joy in arranging and delivering the church pulpit flowers to local members and nursing homes, bringing beauty and comfort to those around her.
Her life was marked by caregiving, as she lovingly supported and cared for many family members over the years. Reba also had a joyful competitive streak and a deep passion for sports—especially baseball. She was a loyal fan of the Astros and Rangers, and when it came to friendly wagers, the stakes were often settled with a pizza—her favorite.
Above all, Reba loved the Lord. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and those who knew her take comfort in knowing she is now rejoicing in His presence, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.
She is survived by her children: Johnny Hill (Joan), Alva Kingham (John), Melody Remone (Bryan); her grandchildren: Corey Hill (Alicia), Stewart Hill (Leslye), Laura Kingham Hill (Steven), Luke Kingham (Anna), and Grant Thornton; along with numerous great-grandchildren who were the joy of her life.
Reba is preceded in death by her parents, W.T. Green and Flora Mae Thruston Green; her husband, Edgar Alvin Hill; her brothers, W.T. Green Jr. and Thomas Allen Green; and grandchildren, Travis Thornton and Robert Thornton.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and selfless service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Private services are being held at a later date.
