

Richard was a horse jockey before he went into the army. When he was a horse jockey he won several titles. He served 20 years in the army; serving in Vietnam, Korea, Panama and various places in the USA. He worked for the city of Houston for 20+ years. He then went to Colorado with his caretaker (Joy) and worked with her at an RV resort. He was in charge of driving the train around the different camp sites.
Richard was really good with numbers. He also loved to sing. He sang for many years in the church choir.
Survived by his three children James Amos Burdick of Boise, Idaho; Kaija Marie Castro (Percy) of Preston, Idaho; Shirley Louis Dixon of Preston, Idaho and 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His brothers Marty Burdick (Nancy) of Fort Ann, New York; Doug Burdick of NY; and sister Dee Burdick of Clyde, New York and lots of nieces and nephews, special friend, Joy Tarver.
Preceded in death by his wife Betty Burdick, his parents, and grandparents, his brothers: Dwayne Sprague and Brian Gibbons, and his sister Amanda Roberts.
