

Born April 21, 1929, in Wink, Texas, to parents Mary Dell (Kennedy) and Robert Spencer, he was a longtime resident of Nacogdoches County, Texas. Mr. Spencer had retired from Southwestern Bell following a number of years of faithful service.
His survivors include daughters, Paula Smith and husband Mike of Spring, Texas, and Mary Kay Barber of Conroe, Texas; sons, Dale Spencer and wife Rebecca of Conroe, Texas, and Rodney Spencer and wife Kristi of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren, Douglas DePriest and wife Jill, Justin Spencer, and Brandon Spencer, Kelcie McDonald and husband Austin, Cole Spencer, and Hayden Spencer; great-granddaughter, Carrol DePriest; great-grandson, Kayden McDonald; a brother, Billie Joe Spencer; and a sister, Roby Kaulfus and husband Bill.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Cason Monk-Metcalf's Sunset Chapel, followed by a service at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Stan King will be officiating.
An additional service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Sardis Baptist Church in Jewett, Texas, in Leon County. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Douglas DePriest, Justin Spencer, Brandon Spencer, Cole Spencer, Hayden Spencer, Paul Foster, and Tony Jones.
