He was born December 26, 1935 in Jasper, TX and was 79 years of age. He served his country for four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
There will be a graveside funeral service conducted at 10:00 am Monday at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper under the directions of Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper, TX.
He is survived by his son Robert Earl Jones, Jr. of Garrison, TX, brothers Billy Jones and his wife Sylvia of Uptio, GA, James Jones and his wife Ronda of Starks, LA, sisters Nelda Hill of Tyler, TX, Virginia Benefield of Lumberton, TX, Sarah Jasper of Union Grove, TX, Pat Procell of Nacogdoches, TX, Ruby Freeman and her husband J.W. of Humble, TX, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alton and Lois Jones, son Timothy Jones, daughter Tina Smith and granddaughter Chastity Smith.
