

Roland is survived by two sons, Ted Muckleroy and wife Sandy of Austin, Texas, and Jeff Muckleroy of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Callan Muckleroy and Austin Muckleroy of Austin, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Marilyn Haberstick and husband Michael, Elizabeth Ballenger, and Katherine Dhawan; five nieces, Beth Smith and husband Hal, Katie Broyles and husband Matthew, Sarah Hanson and husband Lowell, Rebecca Eaves and husband Tommy, and Lee Stover; and five nephews, Worth Barham, Jr., Jonathan Barham and wife Iris, John Meehan, Tommy Smith and wife Lori, and David Barton.
Roland was preceded in death by wife Jean Anne Jefferies Muckleroy; parents Gene and Bernice Willis Muckleroy; his father and mother-in-law Ted and Roberta Lincoln Jefferies; sisters Natalya Smith and Karen Barton; brother-in-law Richard Ballenger; one nephew Larry Barton and two nieces, Linda Barton Messemer and Mary Ann Barton.
Roland graduated from Tenaha High School in 1951, received his B.S. degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1956, and did post graduate work at SFA and the University of Houston. Roland and Jean Anne lived in Houston for 35 years, in Kingwood for 12 years, and moved back to Nacogdoches in 2003. In Houston, Roland worked as General Manager of Industrial Fabricating Company, VP/Finance of Farr Construction Company, Controller of Anaheim Industries, and Controller of Service Refrigeration Company. After retirement, he worked for Kingham Construction Company in Nacogdoches and was an ardent supporter of SFA athletics and fine arts.
Roland was a life-long member of the Episcopal Church. At his death, Roland was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Nacogdoches, where he was baptized as an infant. In addition to Christ Church, Roland has been a member of St. Andrews, St. Thomas, and Palmer Memorial in Houston and Good Shepherd in Kingwood and has served in many areas including vestry member, junior warden, finance committee, educational director, search committee, usher, bible study, an many outreach projects. He served for ten years on the board of directors of the Humble Area Assistance Ministries and was in charge of the Mobile Ministry at Christ Church. Roland was a person of great strength, dignity, character, and wisdom. In a world of compromise and mediocrity, Roland was a true beacon of faith, duty, commitment, and compassion through his wonderful well-lived life.

A visitation for Roland will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 24, 2025 from 1:00 PM at Christ Episcopal Church, 502 E Starr Ave, Nacogdoches, Texas.
Roland will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery, Nacogdoches, Texas.
