Miss Coats was born Feb. 14, 1941, in Nacogdoches County, Texas, as the daughter of Jeff F. Coats Sr. and Georgia Lee Clifton Coats.
Her survivors include two brothers, Jeff Coats Jr. of Center, Texas, and Bill Coats of Muskegon, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; and her "family" at Lufkin State School.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, with Chaplain Greg Freijos officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nacogdoches County.
