Rosia Evelyn Edwards Burt

Mrs. Burt was born to Johnie and Gladys Edwards on December 13, 1928, in Center, Texas. She was married to her beloved husband, George Samuel Burt Sr., on December 12, 1946, and together they had three sons. Generosity and care for others marked her relationships. In her walk with God, she touched many people.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Samuel Burt Sr.; a son, Kenneth Earl Burt; and a brother, James Edwards.

She is survived by her sons, George Samuel Burt Jr. and his wife, Ann, and Robert Wayne Burt; two grandsons, Matt Burt and his wife, Theresa, and Ross Burt and his wife, Lindsay; one granddaughter, Jennifer Prigge and her husband, Brent; one great-grandson, Brody Burt; sisters, Elsie Carrigan and her husband, James, Jackie Fountain, Diane Crawford, Brenda Edwards; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Katherine Brady.

Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North St. in Nacogdoches, Texas. Interment will follow at Libby Cemetery.

Friends are invited to a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.

Acting pallbearers will be Matt Burt, Ross Burt, Jonathan Clark, Justin Clark, Jacy Clark, and Justin Bass. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Burt and Muncie Powers.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the Garrison Nursing Home staff.
