Scott Cameron McAuley, 43, born in Upland, California on July 24, 1975, passed away peacefully at his home in Nacogdoches, TX, Tuesday morning, November 13, 2018 after losing his battle with cancer. He was a member of Vineyard Church, and a Certified Peer Counselor for Recovery Facilities. Scott worked with the Hogg Foundation for Metal Health and recovery wellness, was a Certified Counselor, and was a speaker at local universities promoting mental health wellness.
He is survived by mother, Cynthia Cox and stepfather Wayne Cox; father, William R. McAuley; brother, Michael McAuley; brother, Sean McAuley; sister, Annie Haynes and husband Dr. Neal Haynes; his cat, Lunabella; niece, Christianna McAuley; nephew, Joshua McAuley; nephew, Marley McAuley; nephew, Luke Gottuso; niece, Amethyst Haynes; nephew, Mica Haynes; nephew, Xander Haynes; and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Grace McAuley, and Robert and Lucille Smith.
A Memorial Service will be held, 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Vineyard Church in Nacogdoches located at 4140 Fm 1878, Nacogdoches, TX 75961. Scott wanted his life celebrated by wearing casual clothes and bright colors for the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice in the Pines in Lufkin, Texas or to Vineyard Church in Nacogdoches.
