Steven "Bear" Kimbrough

Steven was a proud employee of Nacogdoches Sheet Metal and Plumbing, working on HVAC systems. He also found great happiness in the outdoors and in working with his hands. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and craftsmanship, passions that reflected his appreciation for nature and his dedication to creating and building. He was also an active member of several organizations, including Ducks Unlimited (DU), Delta Waterfowl, the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), Coastal Conservation Association (CCA), and Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (BASS).

He is survived by his beloved wife, Darleen “Dee” Kimbrough; his sons, Steven Thaddaeus Kimbrough and wife Kimberly, Robert Keith Kimbrough and wife Billie Jean, and Chance Kimbrough and wife MaryAnna. He was a proud grandfather to Atticus Kimbrough, Hannah Cook, Caitlin Kimbrough, Karis Mosley, Kaitlynn Hargraves, Cheyenne Martin, Sierra Mitchell, Taylor Parker, Robert Kimbrough, Colton Kimbrough, Dillon Lake, Kody Johnson, Ella Kimbrough, and Kreek Johnson, as well as 15 great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

Steven is also survived by his siblings: sisters Nancy and husband Jim Heron, Jeanette and husband Joe Pena, Donna and husband Wesley Jordan, and Jodie and husband Craig Raif; brothers Richard Kimbrough and fiancée Gwyn Forgue, and Paul Kimbrough and wife Susan; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and Thaddaeus Kimbrough; his nephew, Zachary Kimbrough; and his great-grandson, Mason Mosley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting fallen first responders and their families, eradicating veteran homelessness, and building mortgage-free smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans.

Steven will be remembered for his strength, his devotion to family, his generous spirit, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at Clawdaddy’s Mkt General Store & Event Center on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
