

Steve was born on December 23, 1956, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from Louisiana Tech in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture Landscape Design. He retired as a battalion chief with the Texarkana, Texas, fire department after serving nearly 30 years and later worked as a licensed paramedic. Steve taught the EMT course at Texarkana College before he and Becky moved to Melrose, Texas, in 2013.
Steve was a faithful Christian and served as a deacon at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church of Nacogdoches. He participated in the Glory Gang ministry as well as Mission Nac.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Patience Jones Ramsey, and son, Zachary Ramsey.
He is survived by his brother Charles and wife Kathy Ramsey of Ruston, LA. Steve is also survived by his wife of 40 years, Rebecca; son Caleb and Hollie Ramsey of Texarkana, TX; daughter Jessica and Douglas Wray of Sleepy Hollow, NY; daughter Asher and John Beasley of Nacogdoches, TX; son Eli and Krista Ramsey of Philadelphia, PA; daughter-in-law Dori and Rob Mynatt of Memphis, TN; and grandchildren Kiah, Dani, McKenna, London, Garrett, River, Malachi, Cedar, Harper, Vera, Zinnia, Fox, and Ryan, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, December 14, at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 340 N.E. Stallings Dr., in Nacogdoches. Interment will follow at Blackjack Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartbeat Pregnancy Center, 619 Russell Blvd., Nacogdoches, TX 75965, one of Steve’s favorite ministries.
