Theo Hollis Johnson

Theo was born August 26, 1928 in Douglas, TX to Clint and Sara Johnson, the oldest of two children.

Theo was united in holy matrimony to Johnnie M. Johnson and to this union five children were born. Theo joined Scott Temple of the Living God Church at an early age and remained a member until his passing.

Theo H. Johnson Sr. is survived by his children, Theo H. Johnson Jr. (Brenda), Hollis Johnson (Antoinette), Anthony M. Johnson (Kellye), Thurlow R. Johnson, Sharon Kent (Howard); a hosts of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Theo joined the Army, serving in the Korean and Vietnam War. After a long and successful career in the military, Theo retired receiving numerous meritorious awards and medals. His greatest achievement while serving his country was his un-waving devotions to defend his morals and to be an outspoken voice for the people whom he loved.

His unceasing devotion to his family will forever live in our hearts. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Theo's determined spirit and zest for life will be ever present in the lives of those he touched.

Theo was known for his love of fishing and hosting cook-outs for his family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Scott Temple of The Living God, 11818 TX-21, Douglass, TX 75943. The burial will follow soon after at Bruton Cemetery, County Rd 829, Nacogdoches, TX 75967.

A viewing will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, TX 75965.
