Timothy Edward "Eddie" Avant

Eddie was born Sept. 27, 1954, in Pasadena, Texas, and had lived in Nacogdoches, Texas, for the past several years. He graduated from Pasadena High School in 1973 and earned his bachelor degree from the University of Houston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Qunicy Avant of Nacogdoches, Texas; and older brother Carroll Avant of Humble, Texas.

His survivors include his sister, Laura Avant Hubbell of Sugar Land, Texas; niece, Vanessa Avant Simon of Baytown, Texas; nephew, Cary Avant of Montgomery, Texas; nephew, Jared Hubbell of Katy, Texas; 5 great-nieces; and 4 great-nephews.

Services are set for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas, with Dr. Joseph Barboza officiating. Interment will follow at Black Jack Cemetery, located on County Road 350 in the Attoyac Community.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
