

Tommy was preceded in death by his mother, Iva and father, A.V. “Buck” Hargis; brother, Joe Dan “Danny” Hargis, and infant sister, Shirley Hargis.
Tommy retired as Supervisor from Simpson Paper Co and previously as an electrician from Champion International Papers in Pasadena, Texas. He served as Union Treasurer, United Paper Workers International Union AFL-CIO, he served in many positions with the Champion Credit Union and was a Baptist.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Hazel Marie Hargis; sons, Tommy Ray Hargis, Jr., David Craig Hargis; daughter, Sherrie Graham and husband Darrell, Marie’s daughters, Donna Rachelle Price, Carla Giselle Ates and husband Mark, and son, Carlton Eugene Meguess. Also, he is survived by grandchildren, Tommy Ray Hargis, III, Amanda K. Price and Husband Joshua, Michael Hargis, Lindzey Hargis, Sheryce Currington and husband Cody, Amanda Marie Price, Jacob M. Price, Sarah Marie Meguess, Bryan Kyle Meguess, Michelle Womack, Joshua A. Ates and fiancé Sheena Pascual, Kayla Marie Ates; great-grandchildren, Dovie and Noah Price, Camdyn Currington, and Bryan Evan Meguess. Tommy is survived by his brother, Gene Hargis and wife Doris, sister, Sandra Hatchell and husband Lewis, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, January 13, 2011, for family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, January 14, 2011, at Rosewood Cemetery, U.S. Highway 59N at Community Drive, Porter, Texas, 77365, (281) 354-2171 with Rev. N.M. Ates officiating.
