Wayne graduated from Malakoff High School and Henderson County Junior College. He then married his sweetheart, Mary Ruth Adams on July 28, 1956. They shared a very special love for the past 69 years, as was celebrated on July 28th 2025. He dearly loved his daughters, Dameta and Lisa and cherished every moment he had with them.
He started his career as a purchasing agent for the large corporation of Curtis Mathis Manufacturing Co. for 30 years. He then retired from Palestine ISD as the Director of Transportation.
He served as a deacon at Crescent Heights Baptist Church as well as West Athens Baptist Church in Athens, Texas. His knowledge of the bible was broad and enjoyed conversations and discussions about the bible and His Lord and Savior. As they moved to Nacogdoches in 2024, he has been a part of FBC's TV ministry and was thoroughly blessed.
He was an avid sports fan. More recently a Nascar racing fan and a Texas Rangers baseball fan. In earlier years, he enjoyed golfing and attending professional golf tournaments. Another hobby was playing dominos with family and friends. Special character traits we will remember him for are his powerful prayers, quick wit and strong hand shakes.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Brown; daughter, Dameta Pride and husband Jeff; daughter, Lisa Labosky and husband Jim; grandchildren, Candace Williams, Kyle Labosky, Heather Kee, Cody Mayfield, Ryan Mayfield, Richard Pride and Christi Ramsey; and 14 great-grandchildren.
