Anna was born in Brooklyn, NY to John and Josephine Cervasio. She is survived by her four children: Anna Maria Pochatko, JoAnn Del Gatto, Kristine Nooney and Jerry Del Gatto, six grandchildren as well as her siblings: Concetta Gorczycki, Joan Ensulo of NY and Frank and Philip Cervasio of FL.
Anna met her husband, Gerry, who preceded her in death, at a social club in Brooklyn and it was an instant union of two souls. They married after a brief time and started their family. Anna successfully started and managed a home-based housecleaning service for many years and later moved on to doing private childcare. The children that Anna cared for became extended family members and many had so much fun with Anna they didn’t want to leave at the end of the day.
Anna’s life revolved around her grandchildren, Anna (21), Christian (19), Steven (19), Alessandro (19), Matteo (16), and Angel (16). They were the light of her life. Anna cherished spending time with her immediate and extended family; those times brought her extraordinary joy.
Anna and Gerry had been married 59 years when he passed away, bringing many changes that were difficult for Anna to accept. She weathered those changes with strength and resolve. Anna spent her last years living with her daughter, JoAnn and her family in Naples, FL.
She will be missed tremendously but she has left those around her with many precious, treasured memories and traditions.
