Barbara spent more than thirty years working as a paralegal in Cincinnati, Ohio with the firm Barron, Peck, Bennie, and Schlemmer. After retiring in 1995, she moved to Naples, Florida with her husband, Jack Dolfinger, where she enjoyed the sunshine for more than thirty years.
A devoted Catholic, Barbara was a longtime parishioner of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples. Her faith was a guiding presence throughout her life and was reflected in her commitment to helping others.
Barbara's generosity was perhaps most evident in her devotion to her nephew, Joe Schaber. For more than twenty-five years, she was his steadfast caregiver, advocate, and companion. Inspired by her desire to create opportunities and support for Joe and others with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Barbara volunteered with the STARability Foundation of Naples, serving on its Board of Directors and supporting its mission to enrich the lives of those it serves.
Barbara enjoyed spending time in the sun, shopping trips with Joe, and happy hours with friends from the condo community. A lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan, she looked forward each year to following the team and attending spring training games on Florida's Gulf Coast.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Barbara Schaber; her siblings, Mary, Audrey, Joan, and Joseph Schaber; and her husband, Jack Dolfinger.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Neville; four stepchildren and five step grandchildren; eight nephews, including Joe Schaber; and ten nieces, including Susan Crooks.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples, Florida. Burial will follow at Naples Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Barbara will be remembered for her faith, her kindness, and her devotion to those she loved and cared for.
