Born on June 2, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan, Dolores was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Klize. It was in Michigan that she built a beautiful, vibrant life alongside her husband, Edward Flek. Together with their son Larry, they owned and operated a Manufacturing business in Livonia, Michigan, proudly serving the automotive and defense industries for many years. Later in life, Dolores relocated to Naples, Florida, where she lived with her son Larry.
Dolores was a businesswoman. She also had a passion for fashion and loved spending her spare time shopping. Above all, Dolores’s heart belonged to her family. She was happiest when her kitchen was full, cooking family favorites, especially for the holidays. Her recipes and the traditions she created will be cherished by her family forever.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Katherine Klize, and her husband, Edward, of 59 years, who passed away in 2008.
She leaves behind her surviving family:
• Son: Larry Flek
• Daughter and Son-in-law: Lynn Flek-McDonald and Greg McDonald
• Grandchildren: Candi Flek-Noreen, Cherie Flek-Lane, Connie McDonald-Garlick, and Greg McDonald Jr., along with 7 great-grandchildren.
