Eugene Kenneth Prosser

Ltc.(Ret.) Eugene K Prosser passed away peacefully with his children by his side in Naples, Florida after living his life on his own terms for 97 1/2 years. He will join the love of his life and wife of 72 years, Anne G. Prosser, as well as his beloved Brindle under the White Oak Tree.

Gene was born in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania to Uriah Gilbert Prosser and Agnes Illian Schrock Prosser. Gene and Anne were parents to Candace Prosser Powers of Salt Lake City, Utah and Uriah Gilbert Prosser II (Christine) of Roscommon, Michigan. Both Candace and Uriah were born in Ft. Benning, Georgia.

Gene was older brother to Maxine(Matt) Drop, Annabelle(Joe) Pugliano, and Dolores Prosser DeFrances, all of whom preceded him in death. Anne was born in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania to Saturno Gaspari and Domenica McCagnan Gaspari and was youngest sister to Mary(Steve) Bereznak, and Algerina(Howard) Edwards.

Gene was brilliant of mind with a photographic memory, and an encyclopedic knowledge of the world. He never lost his sense or humor and commanding spirit finding it humorous that , after being summoned by him to Florida for the last time, my brother and I had to rent a home because I had recently sold mine. He followed his ancestor’s path who served our country since the American Revolution with honor and a patriotic heart. After retiring with distinguished service from the US Army, he continued his career in aviation and business. He then tackled, with ferocity, the game of golf.

Gene’s wife, Anne, was by his side as he traveled our country and Europe as the consummate “ Army Wife” making a home for her family from every sort of army barracks with her light touch of grace, style, and beauty. She was a talented artist and a dedicated animal lover.

Gene and Anne leave behind their children, grandchildren great grandchildren, nephews and nieces whose respect they garnered and friendships they made.

Gene will be interred with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington DC alongside his wife.
