He is survived by his wife, the love of his life and best friend, Pat Asiel; his siblings John (Diane) Asiel and Terri Asiel; his two children Carrie (Dennis) Grammas and Scott (Maureen) Asiel; his five grandchildren: Allie (Tiki), Christina (Shiqer), Kathryn, Emma, and Ryan; his two great-grandchildren, Aila and Jackson, who lovingly call him “Grandpa Great”; and wonderful memories with his step children: the Gagne and Correll families.
He graduated from Northwestern University and went on to receive his MBA at the University of California Berkley. After a two year stint learning the travel agency business he decided to pursue a career in education. He became a teacher (math), administrator (Assistant to the Principal), and coach(tennis), at Rye Country Day School. His 20 year career was extremely worthwhile and satisfying. Upon retiring he became a tax preparer, working with middle/low income clients over 28 years as well as organizing help for those who could not afford it.
He was an enthusiastic sportsman and spent the first half of his adult years on the tennis court. The rest of his adult life was spent on the golf course. He was an avid Yankees fan. His favorite place to vacation was Kildare, where many special memories with family and friends occurred. His hope is that all who survive him will be able to continue the tradition.
Both he and Pat retired to become Naples, Florida residents in 2010.
He will be remembered as a loving father, his enthusiasm for sports, and his ability with figures.
