Harvey Allen Van Dam

Harvey was born May 12, 1935, in Grand Rapids, MI. He attended Grand Rapids Christian High School and Grand Rapids Community College.

He was the founder and president of Metropolitan Title Company in Grand Rapids. He served on various civic and church boards.

He enjoyed photography and bicycling. He also enjoyed camping, hiking and canoeing with his family and friends.

Harvey and his wife Judy moved to Chicago in 2002 where they have enjoyed living life in a metropolitan area. They also traveled extensively. They were members at Episcopal or Presbyterian churches everywhere they lived.

Harvey is predeceased by his daughter Anita Ehlers. Harvey is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Douglas Van Dam and Abigail Livingood, David and Irma Van Dam, Barbara and David Sauter, and Martin Van Dam; stepchildren, Amy and Bob Wilens, and Lisa Warren; grandchildren, Theo Van Dam, Noah Van Dam, Helen Hofer, Lindsay Mattes, Marika Sauter-Patterson, Julia Burke Saraswat, Hannah Warren, Sophia Warren, Joshua Wilens, and Elizabeth Wilens; great grandchildren, Vivian, Annette, and Owen; and sister, Norma Eppinga.

A Memorial Service will be held in Chicago.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chicago Lights Social Service Center at Fourth Presbyterian Church or Avow Hospice in Naples, FL.
