Janice Marie Miley

Born on September 26, 1960, Janice grew up in Summit, New Jersey, where she attended the Kent Place School before graduating from Skidmore College. She went on to build a successful career as a human resources executive, forming many friendships and lasting connections along the way.

After retiring, Janice moved from Pittsford, New York, to Naples in 2010 and made her home in Pelican Bay. She embraced her life in Naples and the wonderful friendships that came with it. As a member of Club Pelican Bay and Hideout Golf Club, Janice loved spending time on the golf course, but it was the friendships, laughter, and time spent with others that she treasured most.

Janice was also a devoted sports fan. She loved Notre Dame football and the Dallas Cowboys and could always be counted on to cheer for her teams.

Janice shared a loving and devoted marriage with her late husband, Lynn J. Miley, and continued to hold him close in her heart after his passing. She was also a deeply devoted daughter to her parents, Richard Thomas “Dick” Laughlin and Greta Elizabeth Laughlin (née Jensen), caring for them with love and dedication.

Janice was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lynn, and her parents, Dick and Greta. She is survived by her sisters, Jill C. Orben and Lise A. Laughlin; her brothers, Richard P. Laughlin and Peter M. Laughlin; her cousins, Joan Laughlin and Monsignor John Wall; her nieces and nephews, Jason M. Orben, Melanie A. Orben, Colleen M. Sonnet, Peter M. Laughlin Jr., and Christopher J. Laughlin; and her grandnephews, Jason Jr., Matthew, Joshua, and Jacob.

Janice will be remembered for the love and loyalty she gave so freely to the people who mattered to her. She found great happiness in simply spending time with the people she loved. Those who knew Janice will remember the laughter, conversations, golf outings, celebrations, and everyday moments that made being part of her life so special.

She will be deeply missed by her family and by the many friends whose lives she touched in Naples and beyond. Her family takes comfort in knowing that Janice is once again with Lynn and at peace.

A celebration of Janice’s life will be held in Naples, Florida, at a later time, with details to be announced.
