Growing up in a Navy family, Lisa benefited from the opportunities she had to travel to, live in, and learn about different places. Early on, Lisa learned the skills of adapting to new environments and establishing networks of friends. These skills helped her later in her professional life. She was never afraid to try a new line of work, and all of her chosen careers— sales, real estate, esthetician, and financial services—allowed her to use her excellent interpersonal skills to full advantage.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in history from the State University of New York at Oneonta, Lisa returned to Southern California, one of the places her family had been stationed in. Lisa thoroughly enjoyed her life in Los Angeles, where she worked for a film distribution company (a job that allowed her to attend the Cannes Film Festival every year) and later as an esthetician in one of Beverly Hills most exclusive spas.
In 2012, Lisa relocated to Naples, Florida to be the primary caretaker for her mother. Here, she continued to enjoy the warm, sunny weather she loved, and she deepened her commitment to Catholicism. Lisa enjoyed attending Latin mass and volunteering at her church. Her strong faith sustained her through a cancer diagnosis until the end of her life.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Onorato and Regina Weisheit, and her stepfather, John Weisheit. She is survived by her sisters, Carol Salmon (Charlie DiBisceglie) and Amelia Onorato (Lisa Patrick), as well as her extended family who will miss her beautiful smile and generous spirit.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lisa’s name to Avow Hospice (1223 Whippoorwill LN, Naples, FL 34105-5028)
