Neil Kenneth Braverman, age 87, of Naples, Florida, peacefully passed away, surrounded by family in the comfort of his home. He leaves behind a towering legacy of business innovation, elite equestrian breeding, international philanthropy, and deep-rooted dedication to his loved ones.
Born in February 1939, Neil possessed a rare visionary instinct that drove a storied, multi-decade entrepreneurial career. He first transformed the consumer landscape by building the largest wig manufacturing company in the United States, followed by ventures in industrial manufacturing, real estate, and energy.
Neil is most widely recognized as the founder and former Co-CEO of Safeskin Corporation. His groundbreaking work in introducing high-quality medical and protective gloves revolutionized the healthcare sector. In recognition of this monumental success, Neil was honored with the prestigious Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, cementing his reputation as one of the most dynamic business minds of his generation before Safeskin's eventual acquisition by the Kimberly-Clark Corporation in 1999.
Beyond his corporate triumphs, Neil followed a deep, lifelong passion for horses, establishing the world-class Black Rock Ranch in Harrison, Idaho. Under his guidance, the stunning mountain-top estate grew into one of the Pacific Northwest's premier equestrian sanctuaries and breeding facilities. The crown jewel of Neil's equine legacy was his ownership of FA El Rasheem.
Neil's immense success was paired with an equally profound commitment to giving back.
Through his personal endeavors and the Braverman Family Foundation, his wide-reaching philanthropy in support of Jewish and Israeli causes left an indelible impact, supporting vital community programs, healthcare initiatives, and educational advancement.
Away from his ventures, Neil cherished his home in Naples, where he enjoyed a life driven by boundless curiosity, continuous mentorship, and the companionship of close friends.
Above all his achievements, Neil's greatest source of pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Jeanne; his loving children, David and his wife Stacy, and Steven and his wife Veronica; Stepchildren, Gina Moore, and Daniel Coviello, his cherished grandchildren, Heather, Julia, Josh, Justin, and Zachary, and step grandchildren, Jefferson, Kathryn, and Megan, all of whom will forever carry forward his sharp wit, generous heart, and relentless spirit. Special thanks to Mena, cherished caregiver who has been part of the family for over 30 years.
A private service will be held by the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Neil's memory to the Braverman Family Foundation or a charity supporting Jewish and/or support for the State Of Israel.
