Robert George Cowden

Robert was born on October 6, 1949, at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida, to George and Bettie Cowden.

On February 2, 1980, he married the love of his life, Donna Burdenie, beginning a marriage filled with love and shared memories.

Robert graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Finance & Commerce in 1971. Throughout his life, he built a career marked by dedication, professionalism, and service to the Naples community.

His career included positions with the Conservancy of Collier County in 1972, followed by the YMCA of Collier County in 1973, where he served as Membership Director. From 1974 to 1978, he worked for Naples Federal Savings and Loan Association before joining Monroe-Buman Real Estate from 1979 to 1980.

In 1980, Robert became the owner and manager of The Good Design Store on Fifth Avenue South in Naples, a role he held until 1985. He later worked for Citizens & Southern National Bank from 1985 to 1987 before beginning a nearly 20-year career with Williams Sonoma, where he was known for his dedication and exceptional customer service.

Robert will be remembered for his intelligence, strong work ethic, kindness, and the many relationships he built throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
