The daughter of the late Emma and Harry Baldwin of West Orange, NJ, she was married the late Richard Benson Sparks JR. of Sparks MD until his death in 1978. In 1988, she married Daniel Carlyle MacLea Jr. of Baltimore and soon after moved to Naples, Florida.
Sherrie was always very involved in her community. In Baltimore, she was a member, Sunday school teacher, and Deacon at Second Presbyterian Church. She served as President of the Wheaton Club of Baltimore, President of the Homeland Garden Society, on the Board of the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland, and a member of Ikebana International. In Naples, Sherrie served as a weekly volunteer for First Presbyterian Church of Naples for 26 years, and she served on various committees at Moorings Park up until her death. She and her husband were founders of the Orchid House at Moorings Park and volunteered countless hours.
She is survived by 3 children, Richard Benson Sparks III of Greenville, SC, Peter Baldwin Sparks (Margery) of Vero Beach FL, and Patricia Foley Barnes (Richard) of White Marsh MD. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held in Maryland.
