While our hearts are heavy, we are comforted by the incredible life she lived and the love she poured into our family and into the world.
Simone was born on June 11th, 1939 in Cairo, Egypt, to her parents Maurice and Germaine Sion. She grew up in Cairo before eventually making her way to New York City, where she built a beautiful life rooted in strength, curiosity, and kindness. Many of you knew how brilliant she was — fluent in multiple languages, endlessly curious about the world, and devoted to her work with the United Nations, UNICEF Division. Her career wasn’t just a job; it was an extension of her heart.
But to us, she was so much more than the incredible work she did. She was our mother, our sister, our Nona. She loved traveling, relaxing by the beach, playing board games, listening to music, and hosting family gatherings filled with warmth and laughter. Her laugh — loud, joyful, and impossible to forget — is something we will carry with us forever. She was generous, intelligent, funny, and always the brightest presence in the room.
Simone lived her life grounded in her Jewish faith, honoring her heritage and passing it down through love, tradition, and example.
She leaves behind her daughter, Fran Parker-Dew, and son-in-law, Mike Dew; her grandchildren, Brandon Parker, Matthew Malak, and Andrew Malak; her sister, Michele Jourdan; her brother, Yvo Sion; and her five great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy. She is reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Alfred Malak, her son, Patrick Malak, and her brother, Leo Sion.
We invite friends and extended family to join us in honoring her life on Friday, November 21st, 2025 at 2:00 PM EST at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL.
We miss her more than words can express, but we are endlessly grateful for the time we had with her. Her love, her stories, and her unforgettable spirit will remain with us always.
