IN THE CARE OF

William James Barr, 82, of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 29, 2022. William (Bill) was born on February 20, 1940, in Gary, Indiana to Robert Joseph Barr, Jr. and Julia Pisarski.

Bill attended Saint Mark’s Catholic grade school in Gary, and graduated from Bishop Noll High School in Hammond, Indiana in 1958. He served as a sergeant in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Sill until 1961. One of the highlights of his military service was participating in President John F. Bill resided in Gary, Indiana for nearly four decades, then moving to Chesterton, Indiana; Oregon, Ohio; Coldwater, Michigan; and finally retiring to Naples, Florida. He loved his Chicago Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Fighting Irish. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and played in leagues. Most of the Sundays throughout his life were reserved for playing cards with his family and life-long friends listening to big band music and singing along to his favorite doo-wop songs.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Randi Barr, his daughters: Christine (James) Boulware of Minnesota, Susan (Josh) Skube of Indiana, Kerry Barr of Illinois, and Charolette Schlecht of Oklahoma. Bill is also survived by his bonus sons: Clete (Jennifer) Mills of Florida, Jared (Angela) Mills of Ohio, and Brad (Lori) Mills of Ohio. He loved his grandchildren very much: Ivie, Addison, Waverly, Lillian, Tucker, Logan, Lydia, Abra, Shay, Hank, Victoria, Geoffrey, KeeAnn, Brittney, and Matthew; as well as his eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Julia Barr, his brother Robert J. Barr, and his sisters Lillian Bozich and Patricia Barr.
