I knew Billy from our Parkville Avenue days. He was a great guy and a good friend. I never could beat Billy at stickball as hard as I tried! Gone too soon and a huge loss. 😞

My name is David  ditto Tawil. I played ball with Billy. We talk sports we played paddle ball. He loved his family. He loved his grandkids. He just wanted to be around them in Florida. I’m just finding out about his loss a beautiful guy. My condolences to the family is a special guy Billy his love of life love a family is love and honor to know him.

My deepest condolences to you. It was always a pleasure when Bill would join us at PIYC pickleball courts.  Even if he could not play, while waiting for his ankle to be repaired he would stop for a visit.  I will miss his sunny personality at our courts.

Back in the day when the world was young, our favorite cousin  Barbara introduced us to a good looking kid named Billy Nolan. Bill was strong, confident, maybe a little cocky. He was going to be a lawyer, and a good one. Over the years, we and Billy became close . We shared similar philosophies, interests and love for family. He treated Barbara like a queen, was a great father and grandfather, and stepped up to the plate when he knew it was the right thing to do. Our New York parents loved him and were happy to open their home to him when hurricane Sandy ravaged their home. Family and friends meant everything to him.  He touched so many lives over the years. He truly was a great guy.
One thing we loved about Billy was his  inate curiosity  and inquisitiveness. He was extremely well read and made a point to understand some of the problems gripping the country. He was a loyal friend but didn’t suffer fools. We are really sad to see him go, not only because we loved him, but also because he had so much more to give. Bill, we believe as you know now that there is something out there after we go. We look  forward to seeing you again. You left too us too soon😢 but we know you are ok👍🏻

Only know Bill 2 years. We met on the court playing paddleball. Always had a smile spoke about his family especially his grandchildren. 
This picture was taken  as the summer was ending i photo bomb. Bill you will be deeply missed by us all they call us the paddleball Family we are always there for each other. RIP BILL

I went to Tech with Bill & he sat behind me in home room for 4years. We were in many of the same classes together & Bill was a great guy. Always had a laugh & a football story or joke. 
Bill’s Dad was in the FDNY and I eventually followed in dad’s path to the FDNY (as many Tech alumni did). We visited each other’s families even though I lived in Queens and attended each other’s wedding’s. Even though we did not see each other too much after college we always kept in touch via emails.  God bless Bill and his family.

Billy… always thought of you as my older brother! We did so much as kids and stayed tight throughout life. Always knocking on your basement window and saying come on out! You were studying and I wasn’t as usual!😂I’ll miss trying to be the first one calling you on your birthday! I’ll miss you forever! Get a team going up there and someday we’ll all be together again! My heartfelt condolences to Barbara and the family. I have known Bill for forty years. We played basketball on Saturdays and Sundays at 700  in the morning at Marine Park. Bill had endless stamina. We were colleagues and worked well together. I last saw Bill at my daughter’s wedding in October.  I have looked at photos taken and see Bill’s great smile and shared happiness. We would speak on the phone and would text each other news articles and comment on current events .Bill’s pride and joy was his grandchildren and he commented as recently as the Friday before his passing, the enjoyment he had on his last trip to Jupiter. Nobody could be a more concerned and good friend. My son reminded me that Bill delivered food to my house in March, 2020 when I couldn’t get out of bed because of Covid. RIP Bill, I will surely miss you.

I am very saddened to hear about Bill. I went to Brooklyn Tech with Bill. My Freshman, Sophomore and Junior year, 4 of us had every class together including lunch. The 4 are Bill, me, Steve MacDonald and Bob Palestino (lost track of Bob long ago). In all the years since graduation in 1972, me and Bill kept in touch very infrequently catching up on family and careers - with a lot of laughs. We last spoke a few months ago and hoped to get together his next trip to Brooklyn.
A big laugh was prior to our 50th Graduation Anniversary re-union in 2022. Due to Covid, the school sold out the limited tickets. Bill tells me “Don’t worry, I got an in, let Steve know. I got a guy who is going to open the Southwest door at 9:30 and let us in”. Scheming just like when we did as students. The school actually let us in, and we bought tickets. The attached picture is from our 50th Re-union – Bill, Steve and me (Nicky Calabria).

Our most sincere condolences to The Nolan Family. Two unrelated families that became one with the marriage of our children, Paul Nolan to Adriana Greco Nolan we have known Bill only for four short years. He was sadly taken away from us too soon he was a great man in all respects and a wonderful father-in-law to our daughter Adriana. We will never forget when Bill met his second grandson, baby William, who just turned three months, Bill had tears of joy rolling down his face when he first saw his newborn grandson William. Barbara said why are you crying? Bill response was “I’m so happy “. The  only regret we have  is that little William was only with grandpa Bill for a short while. 
 Bill , baby William will carry your name forever. We will remember you forever we will never forget you. You ll always be in our hearts miss you terribly until we meet again rest in peace. The Greco Family

Barbara I want you and your family to know what a loyal and solid friend Bill was to me. He always had my back. We just exchanged texts on 02/25/2025 advising that he would be back March 6 and wanted to get together.  We recently re-connected with each other and met at the Cummings Brothers reunion last October.  We joked if we would recognize each other after all these years. He was my classmate at Brooklyn Tech and teammate at Brooklyn College and Cummings Brothers Knights. Always a positive voice. He loved his family and always told me about his grandson. A friend taken way too young, just know how loved and respected he was.

35th year anniversary team  celebration of Brooklyn College Coco Bowl Champions

Dear Family of "Billy" Nolan, please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences.  We lost a fantastic man, a beloved husband, dad, grandfather and friend. He was a dear teammate, graduating classmate and a lifetime friend to me.  I miss him greatly.

From the entire Demoleas family, our heartfelt condolences. Growing up next door on Parkville Avenue we were like family back in the day… I for one always looked up to him..and will always treasure our chess games on the “stoop”!!

Hard to believe that Billy died... He was always playing something, busy with LIFE!!

One of the neighborhood good guys.   Kind and caring.  Billy loved his sports too.  A real gentleman.  I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to talk with him at our SRL 50th reunion.  He was still the same good guy.   We spoke about his mom, how she was doing and his sister Barbara.  He expressed his love for his family too.  Rest easy, Billy. You leave behind a group of neighborhood friends who will never forget you.

Bill and myself grew up around the corner from each other ; his family lived on Parkville Avenue, and my family lived on Newkirk Avenue in Brooklyn. We played ball together, and I will always cherish our memories growing up in St. Rose of Lima parish. He was one of the good guys; our thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and his entire family.
