
Audrey M. Vajen, 79, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Lutheran Home of Napoleon. She was born in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin on November 18, 1935 to Ervin and Loraine (Hartmann) Haas. Audrey worked as a librarian for the Napoleon Public Library in the children’s department for more than 40 years, enjoying her work with children and watching each generation grow. Audrey enjoyed walking and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, taking great pleasure in her children and grandchildren.
Audrey is survived by her children, Mark Vajen of Defiance, Joni (Jeff) Foster of Archbold, and Sandy (Mark) Crandall of Napoleon; grandchildren, Amber (Ryan) Yoder of Archbold, Michael (Ashley) Foster of Napoleon, Sara (Rory) Field of Fort Wayne, IN, Levi (Kyleigh) Vajen of Maumee, Matthew Foster of Archbold, Michelle Crandall of Napoleon, Conner Crandall of Napoleon, and Camille Crandall of Napoleon; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ervin (Erma) Haas of Napoleon, and Raymond (Sharon) Haas of Napoleon. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Lucille McCarthy.
Visitation will be held from 2pm to 8pm on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Walker Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 15 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon, Pastor Marcis officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Henry County, or the Lutheran Home of Napoleon.
