
Connie Lee Rice, 73, of Napoleon, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born on September 13, 1940 to Donald and Gayle (Johnson) Hoover and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1958. Connie worked at Napco, and retired from Tenneco after 35 years. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge L.O.O.M.. Connie had a deep love for animals, especially wolves and eagles. She will be most remembered for her devotion to her family, as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, attending as many sporting events of the grandkids as she could and devoting all she had to do anything for her family.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Troy. She is survived by sons, Scott (Michelle) Smith and Matthew (Angela) Rice; 4 grandchildren, Bryan, Jeremy, Jacob, and Allison; and 5 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Tyler, Cole, Lexi, and Elijah; and brother, Larry (Mary) Hoover.
Friends are invited to visit on Monday, January 13 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14 at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society, or any animal protection organization .
