Donald Albert Beard

Donald Albert Beard passed away Friday June 13, 2014 at Golden Living Center Napoleon, Ohio. Born on September 21, 1916 in Defiance Ohio. United in marriage to the late Maude Sharpe on May 6, 1942.

Survived by daughter Betty Chastain of Boston Georgia, son Ronald E. ( Kathy) Beard of Napoleon, 6 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents Ernie and Molly (Brown) Beard, Stepbrother Sam Ice and Son Donald E. Beard.

Donald served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war he was a Coal miner and drove a truck. He was also a telephone operator. Donald retired from Campbell Soup Company, in 1979 after 20 years of service.

Donald is a former member of Napoleon Moose Lodge #788 and a life member of D.A.V. Chapter 30.

A graveside service will be held for Donald at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 17, 2014 at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance Ohio. Pastor Chris Crowe will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded to Donald by the VFW Post # 3360 of Defiance Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walker Mortuary Napoleon, Ohio.
