Edna Pierce Kurtz

Edna P. Kurtz , 103 years old, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 26, 2015 at Country View Haven in Napoleon. Born on July 24, 1911 to William and Edith Pierce. Edna married Arnold Kurtz in 1954, and he preceded her in death. She is survived by son, Dennis (Sandy) Kurtz; grandson, Andrew (Courtney) Kurtz; and special niece, Edna (Tina) Schulze. In addition to her husband, Edna was preceded in death by her son, David Kurtz.

She graduated from John Brown University in Illinois and went on to teach in a one room schoolhouse in Arkansas. She also worked as a Henry County Extension Agent and taught at Malinta-Grelton School. Edna served in the American Red Cross in post-WWII Japan.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, OH. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Henry County, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
