Frederick “Fritz” Weirauch, 85 of Napoleon, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 29, 1926 in Liberty Township, Henry County to the late Clarence and Mary (Gerken) Weirauch.
He married Irma Kipfmüller on August 10, 1947 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, rural Wauseon.
Fritz was a retired foreman at Napco Plastics of Napoleon. In retirement, he enjoyed working at The Snyder Wesche Funeral Home as a funeral assistant. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Napoleon, where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Napoleon American Legion Post 300. He was a WWII Army veteran.
Fritz is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Irma Weirauch of Napoleon; a daughter, Lil Mizer of Napoleon; two brothers, Roland (Carol) Weirauch of Napoleon and Frank Weirauch of Liberty Center; six grandchildren, Terri (Rob) Myers, Amy Cramer, Tim Bockelman, Todd (Leeann) Bockelman, Jason (Raquel) Seiler, and Jeff Bockelman; ten great-grandchildren.
Fritz was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Bockelman; two brothers, Reinhardt and Norman Weirauch and a sister, Alma Young.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from
2 – 4 P.M. and 6 - 8 P.M. at the Snyder Wesche Funeral Home of Napoleon and on Friday for one hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M on Friday, July 27, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Napoleon, Ohio with Rev. Charles Kramer and Rev. Peter Marcis, officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, Ohio with military honors accorded by the joint veteran posts of Napoleon.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or St. Paul Lutheran School.
