

George Harvey Buenger, 87, of Hamler, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at The Orchards of Northcrest in Napoleon, Ohio. Born on October 15, 1927 to George and Elsie (Hahn) Buenger of Hamler. He married Annabelle Marie Brinkman on July 30, 1948 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
George is survived by his wife, Annabelle; children, Linda Thompson, Marv (Jenell) Buenger, Ron (Jane) Buenger, Bruce (Veronica) Buenger, and Roger (Tammy) Buenger; 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Orville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janet Stout; grandson, Daniel Buenger; granddaughter, Brytni Buenger; sisters, Martha Oberhaus , Eleanora Buenger, Dolores Meyer; and brothers, Norman and Julius Buenger.
George worked for SK Wayne Tools for 43 years. He was an avid gardener, who would not water his plants because “God will take care of it.” He was also a lifelong member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Hamler, where he served as a deacon and a trustee. George volunteered as a fireman in Hamler, was a member of the Hamler bowling league, past Food Chairman of Hamler Summerfest, and alongside his wife Annabelle, delivered Meals on Wheels for almost 25 years and visited many nursing home residents. George loved family gatherings, reunions, and just visiting to catch up on family news.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, 830 North Scott St., Napoleon, Ohio. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, February 10, beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 435 Second St., Hamler, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church, with burial to follow at Grelton Cemetery, Pastor Tamara Wood officiating. The family suggests memorial donations be given to St. Stephen Lutheran Church Endowment Fund for Scholarships, or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research.
