
at the Golden Living Center Northcrest in Napoleon, Ohio. He was born January 17, 1921, in Freedom Twp., Ohio, to the late Henry F. and Sophia (Meyer) Huner. Beloved husband of the late Henrietta (Behrmann) Huner for 65 years, they were married on September 19, 1943.
Henry is survived by three daughters; Harriet Brandt, Barbara J. Huner and her friend Kathy Crier and Cynthia (Marvin) Kumm. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Mary Ellen Wendt. He was preceded in death by siblings Herbert Huner, Walter Huner, Lillian Wiemken and son-in-law Bob Brandt.
Henry was an auctioneer for nearly 60 years and owned his own auction business. Henry was a very involved member of St. John Lutheran Church in Freedom Twp. He was a WWII Veteran of the Navy and a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 454 of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio. Henry was awarded the honor of Outstanding Citizen of Napoleon in 1978. Henry was also a farmer and realtor.
Visitation for Henry will be on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon, Ohio, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Henry will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church Freedom Twp. with Pastor Stephen Niermann officiating. Military Honors will be accorded to Henry by the American Legion Post 454 of Ridgeville Corners at St. John Lutheran Cemetery Freedom Twp. Donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church and/or School.
