

Henry F. “Fritz” Pohlman, 89, of Napoleon, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, Ohio. He was born in Napoleon, Ohio on July 14, 1925 to Henry G. and Helen (Eldridge) Pohlman. He married Marilyn Reimund on February 29, 1960, and she preceded him in death on March 25, 2000. Fritz was farm manager of the Pohlman land holdings and retired as a third generation cattle broker. An Army veteran of World War II, Fritz was a life member of the American Legion Post 400. He was a graduate of Purdue University in 1948 and a member of the Sigma Chi National Fraternity. Fritz was also a member of Elks Lodge #929, the Farm Bureau, life member of the Farmer’s Union, and several other farm and cattle organizations. He was also a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Napoleon, Ohio.
Fritz is survived by his nieces, Helen Looft of Plainfield, IN and her husband, Don, and Mary Roll of Newport Coast, CA; his great-nieces and great-nephew, Jessica Knopp and her husband Shawn and children, David and Harper, Sydney Bloom and her husband Jesse and children Matthew and Alexander, and Gabriel Hansen; as well as brother-in-law, Paul F. Roll, Jr. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 40 years, Marilyn (Reimund) Pohlman; and sister, Mary Helen Roll.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Walker Mortuary in Napoleon. Funeral Services will follow at Noon at the funeral home, Pastor Thomas Polker, officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Glenwood Cemetery, Napoleon, OH. Memorial donations are suggested to First Presbyterian Church, Napoleon, OH, Hospice of Henry County, or to the donor’s choice.
