He was born in McClure, Ohio on March 3, 1941; he was the son of the late Rodney Wenner Sr. and Flossie (Caldwell) Wenner. On December 1, 1962, John married Phyllis (Ludeman) Wenner.
John worked for the former Fulton Tubing in Archbold, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Moose Lodge, and Eagles, all of Napoleon.
John is survived by his wife Phyllis; two daughters, Kim (Jeff) Dickmann and Sandy (Scott) Long; a son, Kevin Wenner; four grandchildren, Jordan (Krystal) Long, Heather Eis, Chris Eis, and Nathan Dickmann; a great-granddaughter, Anna Long; three sisters, Emma Shank, Mary Ludeman, and Rose Ludeman; two brothers, Robert (Betty) Wenner and Rodney Wenner, Jr.
John was preceded in death by a brother Richard Wenner.
A celebration of John’s life will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Snyder Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon with Rev. James Castello, Officiating.
Private burial services will be held at a later date at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.
Friends may call at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The family requests that memorials be given to American Diabetes Association, Henry County Humane Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
