Lawrence Orman Rickenberg

Lawrence Rickenberg, 92, of Napoleon passed away at home on July 10, 2014. Born on February 25, 1922 in Napoleon to the late Ernest and Altha Rickenberg. United in marriage to the late Delora Wachtman on June 8, 1947 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Napoleon Twp.

Survived by grandchildren, Matt Rickenberg, Mike (Terri) Rickenberg, Jeremy (Kristine) Zachrich, Joshua (Deanna) Zachrich, Jason (Ashley) Zachrich, Jill (Heath) Schilt and 8 great grandchildren. Also survived by Brothers Walter and Harold Rickenberg.

Preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Altha Rickenberg, Wife Delora (Wachtman) Rickenberg and children Janice Zachrich and Dennis Rickenberg.

Lawrence was a member of the Army and he proudly served his county in WWII as a Corporal of the Company C 14th Tank Battalion, earning many medals and citations.

He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture. He loved to travel with his wife Delora. He also liked playing cards. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Twp.

Visitation for Lawrence will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 3-8 p.m. at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home 830 N. Scott St. Napoleon Ohio. Funeral Services in honor of Lawrence will be on Tuesday July 15, 2014 starting at 11:00 a.m at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 16976 County Rd Q1, Napoleon, Ohio. Lawrence will be laid to rest in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family requests donations be made to Defiance Hospice.
