
Louis R. Bohn, 84, of Florida, Ohio, died peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Golden Living Center of Napoleon. He was born in Defiance, Ohio to the late Louis and Alice (Shumaker) Bohn. United in marriage on August 31, 1952 to Marcia A. Heft at the Florida United Methodist Church.
Louis was a carpenter with the Carpenter Local 1581. He retired from Rudolph-Libbe in 1989. He built many houses in the community as an independent contractor. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge.
He played baritone and enjoyed music. He made numerous wood crafts for his children and grandchildren. He loved animals and had many neighborhood dogs come by daily to get treats and water. He loved playing cards with his family.
He spent his retirement years with his wife taking many cross- country trips out west and to Las Vegas, where he was known as a loyal patron. His children and grandchildren would join them for many of these vacations. He was a natural and lucky at every slot machine he played.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marcia (Heft), children, Jan (Bill) Morey, Jill (Tom) Weddington, Jenny Dangler of Las Vegas, Nevada, Roger (Kathy) Bohn, Alice (John) Rickenberg, Tim Bohn and Tom (Clatina) Bohn, of Napoleon.
Grandchildren, Craig Yates, Ashley and Billy Morey, Laura (Nate) Detmer, Justin (Elizabeth) Weddington, Brooke Weddington, Jasmine (Joe) List, Jeff Otto, Alex and Kevin Dangler, Wesley Strieter, Josh Ballatin, Kayla and Sara Bohn. Great-grandchildren , Arrianna, Elias, Karley, Ryan, Emily, Kellan, Mackenzie and Ethan. Four step-grandchildren and ten step great-grandchildren.
Sister Delores (Ron) Zachrich, brothers Earl (Eva) Bohn and Charles (Judy) Bohn. He also had many friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Noreen, Gloria and Rollen Bohn and a great-granddaughter Gabrielle Ballatin.
Visitation for Louis will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.Tuesday August 13, 2013 at Walker Mortuary 333 W. Main St. Napoleon, Ohio. Funeral Services in honor of Louis will be Wednesday August 14, 2013 at Walker Mortuary starting at 11:00 a.m, with Reverend Laura Clark officiating.
Burial will follow at Florida Cemetery, Florida, Ohio.
Memorials may be given to the Henry County Humane Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
