
Mack Armstrong, age 69, passed away on March 23, 2014 at Defiance Hospice. He was born on June 28, 1944 in Defiance, Ohio to Charles and Geneva (Humes) Armstrong. Mack graduated from Defiance High School and received a Bachelors Degree in Theology from Frankfort Wesleyan College. He went on to achieve Master’s Degrees from Olivet Nazarene College, Winebrenner Seminary, and the University of Toledo. Mack was a Nazarene minister, pastoring churches in Rushville, Illinois; Baraboo, Wisconsin; Wauseon, Ohio; and most recently at Cloverdale United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, Ohio. He and his wife, Martha, served one term as missionaries in El Salvador. He taught at Northwest State in Archbold for several years and at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana until 2014. His whole life, he has been a caring and helping person to his family and others.
Mack married his wife, Martha, in October of 1969, and she survives him. He is also survived by son, Michael (Monica) Armstrong; and their children, Jacob, Eli, and Samarah; daughter, Michelle Armstrong and her son Christopher; sisters, Patsy McDowell, and Madonna (Frank) Conley; brother, Gary (Carol) Armstrong; half-brothers, Kenneth (Ruth) Armstrong, and Charles Raymond (Ruth) Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rex Armstrong; and half-sister, Ruby (Harvey) Keller.
Visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Walker Mortuary in Napoleon, Ohio. Funeral Servi ces will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the funeral home, Pastor Rick Trumbo officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Napoleon. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Defiance or the First Baptist Church of Napoleon.
