

Regina (Miller) Cordes, 97, passed away on December 9, 2014 at the Lutheran Home of Napoleon. She was born on July 7, 1917 to Arthur J. Miller and Emma (Precht) Miller in McClure, Ohio. Regina married Orville J. Cordes on November 11, 1945 and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1961. Regina was a hard worker, working at Kay's 5 and 10, Spanglers grocery section, and finally working at Temco until her retirement in 1985. She was also a cook and catering specialist, working many weekend weddings at the American Legion in Napoleon.
Regina was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, helping her children and grandchildren to learn the small catechism, which she knew backwards and forwards. She was a loving mother to her five children, very patient and kind to all she met. Her eyes were always on the horizon, looking for the return of her family members, Orville, Robert, Dennie and her brothers, from military conflicts around the world.
Regina is survived by her five children, Dianne (Lester) Behnfeldt, Joyce Ann (Dennie) Rohrs, Robert (Ruthann) Cordes, Darlene (Mike) Bergstedt, and Donald (Kim) Cordes; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Arthur Miller, Anna (Don) Lammers, and Ruth Bertz; and sister-in-law, Louise Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville J. Cordes; grandsons, Jeffrey Behnfeldt and Brian Lee Bergstedt; brothers, Harold Miller, Norman Miller and sister, Martha (Miller) Koppenhofer; brother-in-law, Richard Bertz; and sisters-in-law, Jackie Miller and Pauline Miller.
Visitation will be held from 2pm to 8pm on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home in Napoleon, Ohio. Visitation will continue on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township (Road Q1 at Road 17), where Funeral Services will follow at 11 am. Pastor Franklin Hays will officiate. Burial at the church cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice or to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township. Arrangements under the direction of Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon, OH.
