

Reinhart “Reiny” F. Brandt, 86, of Hamler, Ohio passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on July 2, 1928 to Adolph and Clara (Garbers) Brandt in Deshler. Reinhart graduated from Hamler High School and went on to serve in the Army during the Korean War. Reinhart worked as a mechanic for Bichan Chevy in Hamler, as well as Honneman’s Garage for over 40 years. He enjoyed working on his own farm, working the land since 1970. Best remembered as a quiet spirit, Reiny loved playing cards with his family, traveling, and playing music on his old accordion and organ with friends and family. He also played accordion with the Golden Jammers. He was a life member of American Legion Post 262. His grandchildren were special to him and he loved going to their activities and games.
Reiny is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ida (Dachenhaus) Brandt; children, Jeff (Amy) Brandt of Richwood, OH, Robert (Karen) Brandt of Smithville, TN, and Susan (Don) Muntz of Frederick, CO; 10 grandchildren; brother, Norbert Brandt (Irene Cordes), Richard (Jane) Brandt, and Rudy Brandt; sister, Betty (Nelson) Yaichner; daughter-in-law, Lori (Jerry) Shaver; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and oldest son, Michael Brandt.
Visitation will be held from 2pm to 8pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, 830 North Scott St., Napoleon, OH. Visitation will continue at 10am on Thursday, November 20 at Hope Lutheran Church, G-100 County Road 10, in Hamler, OH where funeral services will begin at 11am.
